3. Explanation
The contract includes non-contestable and contestable work. The latter is the only work, where MRC could undertake tender exercise. Some of the routes for the cables will need to pass through neighbouring property (MAGNOX) which is a highly secured, nuclear decontamination site. Harwell have had discussions with the occupants and have been notified that no other than the utility company would be permitted to undertake work on this property.
