II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) operates 5 Antarctic stations and the research vessel the RRS Sir David Attenborough. To ensure safe, efficient operation data connectivity is required. Due to the remote locations, satellite data services are required. Currently services are provided through a VSAT connection, however with the evolution of service options (i.e. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) connections) BAS is looking at options for future services including VSAT/LEO/Bandwidth Management and WAN integration and proposals for alternative options.

A remote industry engagement event via Zoom, is to be held on 20th October at 10am - 12pm to set out our requirements, indicative timetable and to encourage input from industry as to likely options and solutions and potential costs. Interested attendees should email BASProcurement@ukri.org for an invitation and link for attendance.
