      UK Research and Innovation (‘UKRI’) is planning to launch a procurement for a contract to supply electricity via direct wire solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Science and Technology Facilities Council (‘STFC’). A contract of up to 25 years to supply electricity is being sought via direct wire due to grid capacity limitations at STFC’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Harwell, Oxfordshire.

   II.2.4) Description of the procurement:       
      UKRI is planning to launch a procurement for a contract to provide electricity via direct wire (behind the meter) solar PPA for the STFC. Direct wire is sought from any supplier who is able to secure land within 5km of the site in Harwell, Oxfordshire, who has a demonstrable expertise in solar power, and who can manage the full end-to-end process, including all planning permissions, system development etc. STFC is seeking to enter into a contract with one supplier at a price of pence per kilowatt hour that can demonstrate best value to the public sector for that period.

The estimated value given in this PIN is purely indicative at this stage.

   UKRI- STFC would like to invite potential bidders to a virtual supplier event. There will be the opportunity to learn more about the diversity and the potential of this requirement and to ask any questions you may have. Useful feedback from the session, Q&A and any subsequent commentary may be used to inform the final procurement strategy and tender documentation, ensuring all valid options are considered. The supplier event will take place on Thursday 21st July 2022 at 13.30 BST via Zoom, lasting no longer than 1 hour 30 minutes.

Please email STFCProcurement@ukri.org with the subject "UKRI-2255 PPA - EOI" to register your interest, intention to attend the supplier event and confirm the number, names and email addresses of those attending. Registration must be received by 14.00 BST on Wednesday 20th July 2022 to ensure the joining details are issued to you.

All suppliers that express an interest in this requirement will receive all the information that is shared at the supplier event, even if they cannot attend.
