      This is not a call for competition, this is a prior information notice to inform the market of a Supplier Day in relation to a forthcoming procurement. The objective of the project is to replace the existing R69 building (located within UKRI's Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire, UK) with a new building to house the HRPD (High Resolution Powder Diffractometer) instrument on the ISIS neutron source. The new building is to be located on the footprint of the existing building and the project therefore requires the demolition of the existing building and construction of the new, during which time the facility will not be operational. The new building will be spread across 2 floors and provide space for the instrument and support facilities including staff offices. UKRI are looking toward a 2-Stage Design and Build Contract. 4. The estimated construction value is approx £3,526,700 GBP (ex VAT), subject to confirmation at the point of tender. Below is a list of the activities to be completed. Please refer to the Description of the procurement and Complimentary Information Sections below for further information.

      Below is a list of the activities to be completed by a successful bidders. Timescales listed are indicative, UKRI intend to seek feedback on the timescales from potential tenderers through a Supplier Engagement Day. UKRI's indicative time frames for the project are as follows; 31st August 2023 – 23rd October 2023: Enhancement of the RIBA Stage 3 Report to include: an integrated 3D model considerations of UKRI Environmental Sustainability strategy and commitment to Net Zero in relation to the project. 17th November 2023 – 7th March 2024: RIBA Stage 4 Design. 3rd March 2024 – 6th June 2024: Stage 4 Pricing. 21st October 2024 – 26th November 2025; RIBA Stage 5: Demolition and Construction and Handover. A very brief overview of the Client Requirements extracted from the Project Brief - Ground Floor; Instrument hall (~96 m2), Electronics / DAE room (~26 m2), Power Distribution Room (~ 10 m2), Space to house existing concrete ‘F-Section’ connected to existing guide tunnel, Entrance foyer / stairs / passenger lift, Separate equipment lift. First Floor; Instrument mezzanine (~96 m2), To include Laboratory space (~25 m2), Gantry crane, Accessible WC, Instrument Control Room (~40 m2), Meeting Room, Kitchenette. UKRI wish to host supplier engagements to understand and interact with the relevant market place for a requirement such as this. UKRI-STFC will be hosting the video call in relation to this requirement. The aim of the session will be for UKRI to present the requirement and the procurement process to the potential supplier base. It will also give suppliers a chance to ask any questions. Details of the presentation will be shared after the event. The session is scheduled for; Thursday 20th April 2023 (11am UK time) - Video Call via Zoom. Please supply us with your attendee name, email address and organisation name to receive an invite to the Zoom call. Please confirm your a your expression of interest no later than 3pm (UK) 18 April 2023. Please note this session may be recorded so that all questions can be captured. The session is envisaged to be no longer than 1 hour and 30 minutes. Please note, all suppliers that express an interest in this requirement will receive all the information that is shared at the Supplier Event, even if they cannot attend.
